Orange Pop asked me the other day about things that drive evil spirits away-- I rattled off a list, and she was surprised at some she had not heard of before.. as I was I from her.  Time to make a list!

Things that drive evil spirits away (or any spirits for that matter)

Stuff that has strong odor:
garlic and/or onions
Frankensense
Myrrh
Camphor
Sage
Sweetgrass

Things that dry out ectoplasm:
salt
epsom salt
rubbing alcohol
moth balls
camphor
witchhazel

Things that just down right sting:
holy water
salt water
bleach solutions
ammonia solutions
tinctures of herbs
three thieves vinegar

Things that spirits often hate:
crosses
crucifix
Celtic knotwork (confuses the brain)
small mirrors
small mirrors that reflect sunlight
mirrors with blackened silver on the back (traps)
sigils
music you can dance to (confusion)
chanting or sung prayers (repetition)
running water
