This week I had a friend come over for a reading and afterwards I started digging through my library for some books to lend her.  I couldn't find one of my favorite books (which was for me to re-read, not her) and that got me pretty annoyed.

I went to bookfinder.com to see if I could get another copy, only to find that it's going for 57.00.  It's a small, thin book and not worth the 57.00 -- so I'm going to keep digging 'round the house to see if I can find it.

In the mean time, I thought I would give out a "TO READ" list to any one interested in Witchcraft/Wicca and the Occult.  Everyone is welcome to add their favorite books on here!

Aggie's "Must Read" books:

Manly P. Hall's "Secret Teachings of All Ages"  (takes for ever to read, but once you read it.. most books seem rather stupid)
Janet and Stewart Farrar's "Witches' Bible Complete"  Truely, everything you really need to get started.  Janet and Stewart were students of Doreen Valente, who was one of Gerald Gardner's high priestesses.
Doreen Valente's "ABC's of Witchcraft".  Doreen was a wonderful woman and I got to see her live at the Pagan Federation Conference in London before she died.  It was a wonderful-- Doreen was as alive and vibrant a witch as I'd ever seen one.  She had a sparkle in her eye and she talked about how Wicca was an ever evolving craft-- it was okay to take Gardener and run with it.
Al G Manning's "Helping yourself with White Witchcraft".  He has some very important ideas in this book.  It's dated and stale in places, but still very interesting.
The Crafted Cup by Shadwyn.  The whole front section is revolutionary and well thought out.  The rituals are kinda wordy and stiff... but a fantastic book.  It really changed the way I viewed the Craft.
"Isis in the Ancient World" by Witt  One of my favorite books on this most important of Goddesses.
"chart interpretation Handbook" by Stephen Arroyo.  A good book for astrology work.

These are all I can think of off the top of my head.  I'm sure I'll come up with more shortly.
